SNAP-TITE Chains

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20)


Do you remember when you were little and you had a set of those chains that could snap together as well as break apart. I would spend hours pulling those apart and putting them back together in different patterns or see how many I could attach to one. This visual reminded me of what many people today encounter. It says in Psalm 116:16
O LORD, truly I am your servant;
I am your servant, the son of your maidservant;
you have freed me from my chains.


How many of us hear these words and believe them for a time? We go to the Lord and he breaks the chains that bind us and they fall to our feet. For a while we dance, shout and sing praises to God for what he has done but then we cool off. We begin to return to our old ways and slowly we begin to pick up those chains and like the child's chain we begin to put it back together and put ourselves back into the bondage God loosed us from. Again we go to God, he breaks the chains because like 1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Unfortunately for many of us, myself included, we repeat this cycle over and over.

Like the scripture at the top says: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." This week I found this scripture and for the first time in a long time I felt like a true breakthrough was happening in my life. God says that His power works within us and He is able to do immeasurable more, or infinitely more, than all we can ask or imagine. Do you hear these words, more than we can imagine, I don't know about you but I can imagine a lot. One thing I have asked and imagined is to be free of a sin that has kept me down for quite a while. Are you there as well? Do you feel the gentle nudging of God telling you that something in your life needs to be left behind? I find something new almost everyday and I am continually purging things out of my life that for years I thought were fine. Remember the moment you think your perfect is the very moment the Holy Spirit will let you know your not.
