One of the more strange bands in Christian music, Family Force 5 has made a reputation for itself as a hybrid of rock, pop, techno, and house. Many have turned their backs on FF5 stating that they are too main stream and irreverent. Now I could go on a long theological rant about why these few are wrong but I won't. I just want to say that, "loosen up and have some fun." FF5 is all about just letting your hair down and having some much needed fun. In a world where we face reality 24/7/365 it is essential that we learn how to laugh and just be stupid. One of my favorite aspects of FF5 is they do not take themselves seriously.
Apart from the value of the band, the music is definitely from another world. Some have called their type of music as "crunk". But due to the variety of music types that every album has, it is hard to nail them down to just one genre. My recommendation is just to listen to their music once. You'll either love it or hate it, but at least give it a chance.
