HE IS

For the discouraged, HE IS your courage. For the hurt, HE IS your healing. For the abandoned, HE IS the one that will never leave you. For the hopeless, HE IS hope. For the heartless, HE IS love. For the sinner, HE IS salvation. For the weak, HE IS strength. For the _____, HE IS!!!

This simple phrase of HE IS, came to me this week as I prepared for Wednesday night. I was speaking on how Salvation has nothing to do with us, it is all about HIM. This thought was further strengthened when I had to pray someone through the darkness. I kept telling this person that HE IS ______ and to call out to HIM. I believe that God is trying to make a definite statement to HIS people, I AM ALL YOU NEED.

Okay now I know many of you are out there saying, well that's obvious enough. I mean God calls himself "I AM" in Exodus 3 so this is not really groundbreaking. To this I ask, if God is really your I AM then why do you live in defeat? Why don't you get excited? Why do you worry?

WHY?

We are sons and daughters of I AM. He is everything. How you are doing, what you are doing, where you are, what situation you're in, no matter the question, HE IS the answer. I challenge everyone who is reading this to get that HE IS I AM down deep inside you. Believe it with all that you are. Because once it gets on the inside of you, you will never be the same. You can't help but change because you are now living with the one that can be our everything.

Now go live it because HE IS!!!

Who I am...

First of all, I am married to the greatest work that God ever took the time to design, my wonderful wife Miranda. Almost a decade ago, Miranda and I were brought together in Ferrum, VA. God had brought her to me from Springfield, MO when her family moved to Virginia for work. After two years of friendship, God ignited the spark of love and six months later we were married. That was more than seven years ago and God has joined together with Miranda and I and given us a common vision to minister to young adults.

About 15 years ago when I was still a youth I saw that many of the friends and mentors I had throughout my early teen years left the church and did not come back. When I asked a few of them why they had left some told me that they no longer felt needed at the church. They were too old for youth and too young and inexperienced for church ministry. Many years later I read a study that said two-thirds of youth in the Protestant church leave the church at age 18 and only 34% of that number come back. That means that the Body of Christ looses 44% of youth at age 18. It was then that God laid young adult ministries on my heart.

Three years ago I was given the great honor of leading the young adult ministry at North Pole Assembly of God. Over those three years I was able to witness God's power to change lives as I watched young adults come closer to God and step into their holy potentials. In April 2013, I was given another opportunity when Aurora Assembly of God offered me the position of young adult pastor. I now have moved to Aurora and I am working with the senior pastor to accomplish more in the Fairbanks area than I ever thought could be possible. Vectored Young Adult Ministry brings Miranda and I ever closer to fulfilling God's vision for our lives and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of God's plan.
